Red Ravens Rally from 13 Down to Defeat the Blue Dragons of Hutchinson 81-77

Hutchinson, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Basketball Team seems to be making a habit of double-digit comebacks.  After trailing the Hutchinson Blue Dragons by 13 points midway through the first half, Coffeyville roared back and defeated Hutchinson 81-77.  With the victory the Red Ravens improved their overall record to 8-2 including a perfect 4-0 in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) matchups.

Coffeyville started the game slowly finding themselves down 21-8 midway through the first half.  The Red Ravens closed the first half on a 10-2 run to pull within 30-26 at halftime.  

The second half saw 11 lead changes with Coffeyville taking the lead for good at the 3:19 mark to go in the game.  Coffeyville finished the game on a 13-4 run to earn the 81-77 victory.

The Red Ravens only committed 4 turnovers (season-low) and narrowly outrebounded Hutchinson 39-37.

Game leaders for Coffeyville included sophomore guard Brian Griffith with a 19-point 10-rebound double-double, sophomore guard Justin Taylor with 16 points and 9 assists, freshman Abdul Kuta with 13 points, and freshman Konstantin Popovic with 11 points.

Coffeyville will look to add another KJCCC road victory as they travel to play the Broncbusters of Garden City on Saturday, December 7th.  Tipoff in Garden City is slated for 4:00 p.m.
