Red Ravens and Broncbusters Battle to a 1-1 Draw

Garden City, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Women's Soccer Team battled the Broncbusters of Garden City to a 1-1 draw.  The Ravens' overall record moves to 0-6-1 including a KJCCC record of 0-5-1.

Garden City scored first with a goal just before halftime to take a 1-0 lead into Halftime.  The second half proved to be a defensive struggle with neither team able to gain the advantage.  Coffeyville finally was able to net a goal of their own with just under five minutes remaining in regulation as Red Raven freshman Ana Matos managed a nifty zig to the right to avoid the goalie and then easily netted the goal with the right foot to pull Coffeyville into the 1-1 tie.  Both defenses held up over the last four minutes and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Coffeyville managed 8 shots on goal while Garden City had 5.

Ravens sophomore goalkeeper Rosa Forero Calabuig stopped 4 of the 5 shots she faced.

Coffeyville will return to action this Saturday, September 21st, with a home match against the Saints of Seward County. The match will start at 4:00 p.m. in Veterans Memorial Stadium.
