Red Raven Softball Splits Home Doubleheader With Connors St.

Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Softball Team split a home doubleheader against the Cowgirls of Connors State. The Ravens lost the opening game 6-5 and won the second game 15-7. With the split, Coffeyville's 2025 record moves to 5-13 on the season.

Game #1 - 6-5 Loss

A late-inning rally, with the Ravens scoring two in the fifth and one in the sixth, was not enough for the Red Ravens to overcome a four-run third inning by the Cowgirls. Coffeyville was paced offensively by freshman Raya Eilert, freshman Teagan Titus, freshman Katelynn Siess, and freshman Breanna Banks, who all had two hits in the game. Titus and Henderson each had two RBIs.  Right-handed freshman Emma Nelson pitched well in the loss, allowing five earned runs on nine hits while striking out one and walking two.

Game #2 - 15-7 Win

Game #2 saw the Ravens scoring early and often with Coffeyville scoring four in the first, one in the third, two in the fourth, four in the fifth, and four in the sixth to secure the 15-7 victory.  Red Raven freshman first baseman Kaylee Henderson clubbed one over the fence for her fourth home run of the season while going 3 for 5 in the game with six RBIs.  Freshman right fielder Raya Eilert was also a menace at the plate, going 4 for 5 with a double and four RBIs.  Freshman righty Katelynn Siess earned the victory on the mound, going five strong allowing seven earned on eight hits while striking out two and walking three.

Coffeyville returns to action on Thursday, March 27th as they welcome in the Thunderbirds of Cloud County for an afternoon doubleheader.  Game time at Byers Field set for 1:00 & 3:00 p.m.
