Red Raven Men's Basketball Earn Home Victory over Neosho 71-62

February 15, 2020

The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven men's basketball team defeated the Neosho Panthers 71-62.  With the win, the Red Ravens improve their overall record to 21-8 including a 13-6 mark in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) games.  The Ravens find themselves currently in third place (behind Cowley's 17-1 KJCCC mark and Butler's 14-4).

Even with a four-point deficit at halftime (30-34), the game never really felt out of reach for the Ravens.  Coffeyville applied some defensive pressure in the second half and the offensive picked up just enough to give Coffeyville the 71-62 victory over the Panthers.  The win gave the Ravens the season sweep of the Panthers.

A balanced offensive attack for Coffeyville included freshman Bostyn Holt with 17 points, sophomores Meikkel Murray and Tony Hutson both with 15 points and freshman Larry White with 12 points.  Overall, the Ravens shot 47% (24/51) from the field including 37% (6/16) from three.

Coffeyville will wrap up the regular season schedule with a home game against the Grizzlies of Butler County.  The Ravens are assured of the third-place standing in the KJCCC East no matter the outcome of the game.  However, a Coffeyville Saturday win over Butler combined with a Butler Wednesday night loss to Cowley would earn the Ravens a second-place standing in the East.   Game time for Coffeyville vs Butler is scheduled for Saturday, February 22nd at 7:00 pm.

The February 22nd game will also serve as Red Raven Fan appreciation Night and CCC Red Raven Hall of Fame induction.

Tickets for the game will be at a discounted price for both Reserve Seats ($4) and General Admission ($1).  The most recent CCC Red Raven Hall of Fame recipients will be introduced at halftime of the men's game.
