Raven Men's Basketball Cannot Complete Second Half Comeback at Barton, Lose 89-85

December 4, 2019

The #24 ranked Red Raven Men's Basketball Team traveled to Great Bend Kansas to play the Barton Cougars.  After falling behind early the Ravens mounted a strong second-half comeback but eventually lost to the Cougars 89-85.

Coffeyville fell behind early in the game and was trailing by 12 points (41-29) at halftime.  The Ravens chipped away at the deficit in the second half with Coffeyville pulling within 2 points (85-87) after Raven sophomore Tony Hutson drained a 3 pointer with 6 seconds remaining.  Coffeyville fouled on the subsequent inbounds play and the Cougars sank the free throws to seal the win.

The Red Ravens had a balanced night offensively with 5 players scoring in double figures.  Sophomore Kymani Dunham led the way with 18 points followed by sophomore Meikkel Murray with 16, freshman Tylor Perry with 16, freshman Bostyn Holt with 14 and Tony Hutson with 14.

The loss moved the Red Ravens overall record to 9-4 and 1-2 in KJCCC play.

Coffeyville returns home on Saturday, December 7th with an afternoon game against the Pratt Beavers.  Game time in Nellis Hall is set for 4:00 pm.
