Ravens Soar to Victory Against the Conquistadors; Herkelman 3 Wins Away

Coffeyville got out to a slow start tonight against Dodge City but put their foot on the gas once they found their groove. The Ravens shot at a higher percentage than The Conquistadors all night and forced them to turn the ball over more. These were their keys to victory.

In the first half  The Ravens out scored The Conquistadors by five ending the half 45-40. They shot 44% compared to their  39%. The Conquistadors were hanging tight but at times The Ravens pressure was too much for them. All five starters for The Ravens had points on the board going into the half. The Ravens looked to carry their momentum into the second half.

At the start of second half The Ravens wasted no time out the gate. Their key to the second half was their impeccable defense holding the conquistadors to 40 points compared to their 63. They forced the Conquistadors to commit a total of 20 turnovers in the game and capitalized off their mistakes scoring 23 points off turnovers leading them to their 108-80 victory over Dodge City.

The win also moves Ravens Head Coach Jay Herkleman to within 3 wins of the Region VI all-time record for wins of 621 held by Francis Flax of Brown Mackie.

The Ravens continue their amazing season Monday January 14th against Cowley County CC. GO RAVENS !
