Red Ravens Put Four in Double Figures as #3 Ravens Down the Broncbusters

The #3 NJCAA ranked Red Raven Men's Basketball team defeated the Garden City Broncbusters 92-71.

Coffeyville for the game shot a sizzling 62% (33-53) from the field including an impressive 55% (10-18) from behind the 3 point line.  The Ravens hot shooting kept them ahead on the scoreboard by 8-10 points for most of the game. Whenever the Broncbusters of Garden City mounted much of a push, the #3 ranked Red Ravens would quickly answer and with about 10 minutes to go in the game the Ravens were finally able to extend the lead out to a comfortable 20 point margin.

Raven sophomore Marvin Johnson led the team in scoring with 18 points on 6-9 shooting overall and 3-4 from behind the 3 point arc.  Sophomore Tevin Brewer had a perfect shooting night going 3-3 from 3 point land and 8-8 from the free throw line for a total of 17 points.  Other Raven double figure scorers included freshman Manny Crump with 12 points (6-10 from the field) and sophomore Keon Queen with 11 points (5-5 from the field and 1-3 free throws).

The win moves Coffeyville to 12-1 overall on the season and 5-0 in the KJCCC Eastern Conference.  The win also moves Ravens Head Coach Jay Herkleman to within 7 wins of the Region VI all-time record for wins of 621 held by Francis Flax of Brown Mackie.

The Red Ravens have one game left before the holiday break and it is a road contest on Saturday, December 15th.  The #3 Red Ravens will travel to Liberal Kansas to face the Seward County Community College Saints with a game time set for 8:00 pm.
