Coffeyville, Kan. - The Red Ravens have a habit of beating ranked opponents this year.  The #2 ranked Coffeyville Community College Men's Basketball Team defeated the #15 ranked Cowley Tigers 107-85.  In the victory, Coffeyville's overall record moves to a clean 13-0 including an 11-0 KJCCC conference mark.  The 11-0 conference record has the Ravens sitting atop the KJCCC East Conference standings.  Cowley makes the third-ranked opponent the Ravens have defeated this year.  Earlier in the year, Coffeyville defeated the #14 ranked Hutchinson Blue Dragons as well as the #22 ranked Dodge City Conquistadors.

Against Cowley, the game was mostly close with the Ravens holding a 5-10 point lead throughout much of the game.  Coffeyville held a 49-42 halftime lead and was able to pull away in the last ten minutes of the game to the 107-85 victory.  The edge for Coffeyville came down to shooting.  The Ravens were able to put the ball in the hoop, the Ravens shot 53% in the game, while the Tigers shooting 35% could not.  The Ravens were able to put an exclamation point on the night with their last points of the game coming on an emphatic alley hoop dunk by Raven freshman Markeith Browning

On the night, Coffeyville had five players in double figures including sophomore guard Tylor Perry and freshman forward Hayden Brittingham who both had 17 points.  Freshman guard Love Bettis added 13 points while freshman center Blaise Keita added 12 points to go along with his 12 rebounds.  Sophomore guard Bostyn Holt rounded out the double-digit scorers for Coffeyville with 11 points.

Next up for Coffeyville and their 13-0 record will be a road game to the north as the Red Ravens are set to play the Pirates of Indy in Independence Kansas on Wednesday, March 10th.  Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
