Red Ravens Compete at NJCAA Indoor Championships, Gunzell Wins Shot Put National Title

Gainsville, Florida - The Coffeyville Community College Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field teams competed at the NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend in Gainsville Florida. 

The men's team scored 30 points in the Championships placing 9th overall in the nation.  The highlight of the competition for the Red Ravens was sophomore Trevor Gunzell who won the Men's Shot Put earning him the NJCAA Indoor National Title.  Gunzell's winning toss was measured at 18.59 meters (61'0").  Gunzell's 18.59-meter toss also set the facility record.  Head Red Raven coach Robert Wood said, "Trevor hit that mark on his last throw of the competition!".

Other scoring performances at the Indoor National Championships included;

Reginald Wilson - 4th in Men's Weight Throw (17.83m, 58'6") & 7th in Men's Shot Put (16.08m, 52'9.25")
Donovahn Watkins - 6th in Men's Weight Throw (17.61m, 57'9.5")
Jonathan Crawford - 5th in Men's 400m (47.48)
Zyan Greene - 7th in Men's 400m (47.78)
Jones, Johnson, Crawford, Rowe, Moses, Greene - 5th in Men's 4x400m (3:12.59)
