Red Ravens Grab a KJCCC Victory With a 5-1 Defeat of Garden City

Coffeyville, Kan. - The #18th NJCAA ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens Men's Soccer Team defeated a Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) foe in the Garden City Broncbusters by a 5-1 score.  With the victory, the Red Ravens improved their overall record to 5-2-2 including a KJCCC record of 2-2.

Coffeyville opened up the scoring at the 28:30 mark in the first half with sophomore Ayato Kaneko netting a goal on a penalty kick to give the Ravens an early 1-0 lead.  Just a couple of minutes later, the Broncbuster evened up the score with a goal of their own.  Coffeyville finished the first half scoring with sophomore Manuel Nunez taking a pass from sophomore Taylor Buena and placing it in the back of the net to give the Ravens a 2-1 halftime lead.

The second half was all Red Ravens as Coffeyville scored three goals to zero from Garden City.  The three goals scored by Coffeyville were from sophomore Buena, sophomore Mario De La Fuente, and sophomore Daisuke Shinko.  Sophomore Michael Nesbitt had two assists.  The game ended with Coffeyville winning 5-1.

The Ravens will be back in action on Wednesday, September 20th with a home matchup against the Saints of Seward County.  Kick-off Veterans Memorial Stadium is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
