Cold Shooting Hinders the Red Ravens, Lose to Butler 73-82

January 7 2017

Some nights the shots fall, on this one they did not.  The Red Ravens were defeated by the Butler Grizzlies 73-82.

The loss moves Coffeyville's overall record to 11-4 and 7-4 in Kansas Jayhawk Conference play.

The three point ball would simply not drop tonight.  The three had been somewhat of a staple for the Red Ravens in their 11 posted wins on the season, shooting 32% from three on the year.  However tonight, the Red Ravens shoot a cool 20% from the three point line for the game and a frigid 8 % (1 of 12) in the first half.

The game was semi close down the stretch, but the Ravens just couldn't gain any traction and Butler did just enough to gather the victory on the the Ravens home court.

Stat leaders for the Ravens include freshmen guard Travis Washington (14 points), freshmen guard Malik Keith (13 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists), and sophomore Jordan Taylor (8 points, 10 rebounds).

Coffeyville will try and right the ship in their next game which is scheduled for January 11th.  The Ravens will travel on the road to play the Barton County Cougars in Great Bend, Kansas.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
