Raven Men Dominate with 4-0 Road Win Over Garden City

Garden City, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Soccer Team had a dominating performance in a 4-0 road win over the Broncbusters of Garden City.  With the win, the Red Ravens improved their overall season record to 3-1.  The 3-1 record has them currently in second place in the KJCCC standings.

The Red Raven men traveled out to Garden City this past weekend where they were looking to make it three victories on the bounce. After showing up, it was very obvious that the windy conditions were going to be something that the boys had to deal with once again. However the boys started very fast out the blocks and with only two minutes on the clock, freshman Pedro Branco whipped a ball in from a free-kick, freshman Tiago Dias then headed the ball back into a dangerous area from the back post, and it's tapped into an empty net by freshman center-back, Tahj Hylton.

Throughout the rest of the first half, the boys continued to put the Garden City backline under immense pressure, but were not able to make the most of the wind behind their back, and went into halftime with a one-goal lead. Midway through the second half, Pedro Branco picks the ball up on the flank and beats a man inside before being brought to the ground. He himself decides to put himself on the freekick from around 20 yards out and cooly whips it around the wall and into the bottom corner; 2-0 Red Ravens.

Shortly after that Pedro Branco drove down the right-wing with the ball before playing a sublime ball across the box for it smashed home by freshman forward Miguel Da Silva. At this point, the boys were starting to play some serious football and Garden City was struggling to match the pace of the game. However the boys were not quite done there; another foul was committed by a Garden City player, Aleksander Mihaylov stepped up and put in a beautiful out swinging ball for Tiago Dias to head down and Miguel Da Silva to convert.

The boys continued to run the clock down and see out the results in a 4-0 victory over Garden City.

They now look to Wednesday, April 14th in a non-conference matchup against NEO A&M with a 7 p.m. kick-off at the Veteran Memorial Stadium.
