Red Ravens Win Fourth in a Row with 7-0 Victory Over NEO

Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Soccer Team is on a roll winning their fourth game in a row with a 7-0 victory over the Golden Norseman of NEO.  The victory improves the Ravens' overall record on the season to 4-1 including a 3-1 KJCCC conference record.  Over the last four games, the Red Ravens have outscored their opponents by a total of 23-1.

After coming off three consecutive wins, the boys were hoping to carry on the good form and take it to four. The game had a slower start than usual, however on the 30 minutes mark, Nicolaus Stoddart found a lovely floated ball over the top, for Miguel Da Silva to dink the ball over the keeper from 25 yards out. This is when the game began to get going for the Red Ravens; shortly after the lead was doubled by Pedro Branco whipping in a ball to the back stick, and Tahj Hylton coming in to finish it off. The half wasn't quite done yet for the lads though; minutes before the second half was about to end, the NEO goalkeeper misplaces a goal kick and it lands at Tyler Scarth feet, who plays a nicely weighted ball through to Aleksander Mihaylov who then chipped the keeper to take the lead 3-0.

Going into the second half the boys were hungry for even more goals. Around 10 minutes into the second half Aleksander Mihaylov delivered a great ball into the box from a corner, and Daniel Gomes finished with a great volley inside the 18-yard box. Tails were up for the Red Ravens and this allowed Pedro Branco to drive down the line with the ball, whip another fantastic ball into the box, the keeper was forced to palm it out, however, Daniel Gomes was on the edge, and chipped the goalkeeper for his second of the match. The 5th goal came pretty soon after that when Mikail Prince found himself in some space in the 18-yard box, he then unselfishly squared the ball to Tyler Scarth who was able to convert his 1st goal of the season.

Some rotations were made from the Red Raven bench and this allowed Jurgen Ramirez to pick up the ball, play a lovely lofted pass to Julen Delgado who pulled the ball across the box for Nicolaus Stoddart to be on the end of it and finish with class.

Coffeyville will play next in a home match against Southeast CC on Monday the 19th of April.   Kickoff in Veterans Memorial Stadium is scheduled for 5:00 pm.
