Coffeyville, Kan. - The #14 NJCAA ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Soccer Team defeated the Blue Devils of Kansas City Kansas Community College 4-1.  With the victory, the Red Ravens improved their overall record to 8-2 including a sterling 3-0 record in KJCCC matchups.

Coffeyville was able to jump on top quickly in the match with sophomore Jack Greenwood netting a quick goal five minutes into the match with a nice assist by freshman Gijs Hovius.  Thirty minutes later Hovius himself scored on a penalty kick to give the Ravens a nice 2-0 lead going into halftime.

The second half had the Red Ravens with a 2-0 lead for the majority of the half, however, a flurry of scoring happened in the last ten minutes of the match.  Coffeyville added a third goal in the 82nd minute with freshman Calvin Scholten scoring the goal with an assist by freshman Alejandro Valles.  Just two minutes later Pratt netted their only goal of the match to pull within 3-1.  In the 85th minute, Scholten added his second goal of the match with an assist by freshman Ayoto Kaneki to give the Ravens the final score of 4-1.

Coffeyville will return to action with another KJCCC matchup at home with the Cavaliers of Johnson County coming to town.  Coffeyville vs Johnson County is scheduled for Wednesday, September 28th in Veterans Memorial Stadium.  Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
