Red Ravens Sweep Bethany JV, Extend Winning Streak to 4 Matches

Lindsborg, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Volleyball Team extended their winning streak to four games with a 3-0 sweep of the Bethany College JV.  With the victory, the Red Ravens improve their overall record to 11-5 which includes a 1-2 record in KJCCC matchups.  During their current four-game winning streak, the Red Ravens have only dropped one set total in the four games.

Coffeyville jumped out early in this one taking the first set by a score of 25-15.  The Ravens took the second set 25-16 and the Swedes of Bethany JV put up a little more fight in the third set but Coffeyville hammered down to take the third set 25-22.

Offensively, the Ravens were powered by a trio of freshmen with Sarah Madsen and Laihla Felder leading the way with six kills apiece followed by Alexcia Jones with five.  Defensively, freshman Patience Whittaker lead the team with 19 digs followed by Madsen's 14 and Jones' 11.

Coffeyville will hit the road for a match scheduled at rival Independence Community College on Monday, September 19th with a first serve scheduled for 7:00 pm.  After the Monday match at Independence, the Ravens will return home with six out of their next seven games scheduled in Nellis East.
