Ravens Split Games at NEO, Beating East Central & Falling to NEO

Miami, Okla. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Volleyball Team traveled to Miami Oklahoma, and lost to NEO 3-0 and beat East Central College 3-1.  With the split, the Red Ravens overall 2021 record moved to 12-15 including a 2-4 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) matches.  The 2-4 KJCCC record has them seventh in the eleven-team KJCCC East standings.

The first game of the afternoon pitted the Red Ravens against the Norseman of NEO.  NEO was able to defeat the Ravens 3-0 by scores of 25-19, 25-23, and 25-11. 

Coffeyville's leaders against NEO included sophomore Hannah Armstrong with 9 kills and freshman Nicole Soto with 7 kills.  Sophomores Kaylee Bollig had 11 assists and Heather Stiles had 9 assists while Paola Molina had 15 digs.

The second game of the day for the Red Ravens pitted Coffeyville against East Central College.  The Ravens dropped the first set 25-19 but were able to rebound and win three straight sets with scores of 25-17, 25-17, and 25-19 for the 3-1 victory.

Armstrong and Soto again led the Ravens offensively with 14 and 8 kills respectively.  Stiles had 23 assists while Bollig had 14 and Molina had an impressive 30 digs in the match.

Coffeyville will return to action this Wednesday, Oct 6th with a home match against the Cardinals of Labette Community College.  The first serve is scheduled in Nellis East Gymnasium for 6:00 pm.
