Red Raven Volleyball Take Down Red Devils of Allen 3-1

Coffeyville, Kan. - After three straight road losses, the friendly confines of Nellis Hall was exactly what the Red Raven Volleyball team needed.  In a home matchup against the Red Devils of Allen County, Coffeyville pounded out the 3-1 victory.  The victory improves the Raven's overall record to 9-8 including a 7-6 KJCCC conference mark.  The 7-6 conference mark currently has them in seventh place in the 11 team KJCCC East division.

Coffeyville came out of the gates early, taking the first set 25-22.  Riding off of the first set momentum, the Raven took the second set 25-16 to take a commanding 2-0 set lead.  The Red Devils were able to fight back in the third set winning it in a close 27-25 score to extend the match to a fourth set.  However, Coffeyville closed out the match with a 25-21 fourth set victory to earn the 3-1 match victory.

Red Raven sophomore Raina Forstrom led the Ravens with 17.5 points off of a team-high 16 kills.  Freshman Hannah Armstrong was close behind contributing 14.5 points off of 11 kills.  Defensively, the Ravens were outstanding with three players with double-digit digs.  Freshman Paola Molina led the team with 16 digs, freshman Yeishka Reyes had 15, and freshman Heather Stiles had 13.  Freshman Jennifer Jensen was close behind with 9 digs.

Upcoming for the Red Ravens will be a home Tri-Match on Monday, March 22nd.  Coffeyville is scheduled to play Cowley County at 3:00 p.m. and Metropolitan Community College at 7:00 p.m. in Nellis Hall.
