Raven Volleyball Gets Road Win at #5 NJCAA ranked Fort Scott

In a match between two NJCAA ranked teams this past Wednesday (Sept 25) night, the #2 ranked Red Raven volleyball team traveled to the #5 ranked Fort Scott Greyhounds and came away with the 3-1 win.  The win pushes the Red Ravens season mark to 22-0 overall and 3-0 in the KJCCC conference.

Coffeyville started out slowly in the match losing the first set (25-14) to the #5 ranked Greyhounds.  The Ravens soon found their footing winning set two (25-12) and set three (25-20) to take the 2-1 lead.  The fourth set saw the Red Ravens take a 24-19 lead.  On serve, Fort Scott fought off 5 match points and pulled even with the Ravens at 24-24 before losing the serve and the point to give the Ravens a 25-24 lead and serve.  Coffeyville secured the match win on the following serve. 

Stat leaders for Coffeyville included sophomores Faith Simpson and Seliann Concepcion with 14 and 10 kills respectively.  Sophomore Danielle Dodge had 25 digs and sophomore Aleyshka Quinones had 26 assists.

The Ravens will return to action this Friday, September 27th with roads games at the Johnson County Tournament.  At that tournament, the Ravens are slated to play North Platte CC at 4:00 pm and Iowa Western CC at 6:00 pm.
