#13 Red Ravens go wire-to-wire for the 92-72 victory over the Mavericks of NW KS Tech

Coffeyville, Kan. - The #13 NJCAA ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Basketball Team returned home and defeated the Mavericks of Northwest Kansas Technical College 92-72.  With the victory, the Red Ravens improved their 2022-23 overall season record to 14-4 including an 8-4 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) matchups.  The 8-4 KJCCC record currently has the Ravens tied for second in the KJCCC Division I standings.

Coffeyville jumped out early in this one with the help of a 17-3 run midway through the first half on their way to posting a 52-31 halftime lead over the Mavericks.  Coffeyville head coach Jay Herkelman substituted liberally in the second half allowing his bench players to gain some valuable playing time as the Red Ravens cruised to the 92-72 victory.

Leading the way for Coffeyville was freshman guard Sotirios Nafpliotis who drilled 6/12 from behind the arc for 18 points.  Sophomore guard Nathan Johnson pitched in 17 points while freshman forward Izek Jackson had a nice 10 pt 14 rebound double-double for the Ravens.  Rounding out the double-digit scoring for Coffeyville was freshman forward Al-Housseny Diallo who had 14 points on the afternoon.

Coffeyville will travel to Arkansas City Kansas for their next contest as they will play the Tigers of Cowley College on Wednesday, January 18th.  Tip-off against the Tigers is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
