Red Raven Volleyball Defeat Lamar CC and Southwestern JV to Improve to 9-7 on the Season

Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Volleyball team defeated Lamar Community College (3-2) and Southwestern College JV (3-0) to improve their overall season record to 9-7.  With those two victories, the Red Ravens ride a current seven-match win streak.

The first match of the day for the Red Ravens was against the Lamar Community College Runnin' Lopes.  Coffeyville jumped out early winning the first two sets (25-19 & 25-13).  However, Lamar answered right back winning the next two sets (25-23 & 25-22).  Coffeyville secured the victory by winning the fifth set 15-8.  Leaders for Coffeyville in the victory included freshman Madison Grekstas who led the offense with 19 kills.  Sophomore Sarah Madsen added 15 kills to go with her 17 digs for the double/double.  Coffeyville sophomore libero Alyssa Apel managed the defense for the Ravens with 25 digs.

The second match went a little easier for the Red Ravens as they swept the JV of Southwestern College 3-0.  Coffeyville took the sets 25-23, 25-16, and 25-11.  Grekstas again led the Ravens with 12 kills while freshman Ashlynn Rowland was a whirl on defense with 18 digs.  Sophomore Taylor Burns and freshman Olivia Murphy both set up the offense with 18 assists each.

Coffeyville will take their seven-match win streak on the road as they are next scheduled to play at the Fort Scott Greyhounds on Wednesday, September 13th with first serve scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
