Red Ravens Stumble Against the Red Devils, Lose Home KJCCC Matchup 3-1

Coffeyville, Kan. - Coffeyville and Allen played in a matchup of schools who were within a game of each other in the tight standings of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference standings.  In a close four-set match, the Red Ravens fell to the Red Devils 3-1.  With the loss, the Red Ravens' overall record moves to 19-13 including a 3-5 mark in KJCCC matchups.  Coffeyville is currently in seventh place in the eleven-team KJCCC East DII division.

The match opened up with Allen taking the first set in closely contested play with the Red Devils taking the first set 25-21.  Coffeyville battled back taking the second set 25-19 with Allen taking the third set 25-18.  The fourth set came down to the last few points before the Red Devils were able to secure the match victory with a 25-22 fourth-set victory.

Match leaders for the Red Ravens included freshman Madison Grekstas who posted a season-high 20 kills combined with 11 digs for the double-double while sophomore Sarah Madsen also double-doubled with 15 kills and 15 digs.  Defensively, the Ravens were all over the court with six players hitting the double-digit mark in digs led by sophomore Alyssa Apel with 30 and followed by Madsen's 15, sophomore Taylor Burns with 13, Grekstas's 11, and sophomore Tyanna Palmer and freshman Ashlynn Rowland with 10 each.

Coffeyville will hit the road for a Saturday, October 21st Triangular hosted by Fort Scott Community College.  Coffeyville is scheduled to play Ottawa JV at 3:00 and Fort Scott and 5:00 p.m.
