Red Ravens Fired Up on Sophomore Night, Sweep Hesston 3-0

Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Volleyball Team showed out on Sophomore Night as they swept (3-0) the Larks of Hesston.  With the victory, the Red Ravens improved their overall season record to 16-9 including a 3-3 mark in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) matchups.  The 3-3 KJCCC record currently has Coffeyville in fifth place in the eleven-team KJCCC Division II standings.

The Ravens completely powered through the Larks winning the the three sets with scores of 25-9, 25-14, and 25-9.

Sophomores led the way on sophomore night with sophomores Mya Winter and Sarah Madsen leading the team in kills with eight each followed closely by sophomore Laihla Felder with seven and sophomore Macie Wayne with six.  Sophomore Alyssa Apel led the team defensively with fifteen digs followed by sophomores Taylor Burns and Madsen with ten each.  Burns was also busy setting up the offense with 28 assists.

Coffeyville will return to action on Monday, October 9th with a road match-up against the Lady Norsemen of NEO.  Gametime is Miami Oklahoma is set for 5:30 p.m.

The following were those Red Raven Volleyball Sophomores who were honored in a ceremony after the game.  Over the last two years as of tonight, this group of sophomores have a combined two-year record of 42-19!
