Red Raven Men's Basketball to Receive Bye in 1st Round, Women to Host in 1st Round of Region VI Playoffs

After a long season of Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) action, the Region VI playoffs are starting to take shape.

Both Red Raven Basketball teams have one game left on their regular season schedules with a road game across the state to Goodland Kansas to play the Mavericks of Northwest Kansas Technical College on Wednesday, March 1st.

The Region VI Playoffs are scheduled to start on Saturday, March 4th.

How the Region VI Playoffs work this year is that the top 12 teams in the KJCCC Div I conference qualify for the Region VI Playoffs.  Of those qualifying 12 teams, the top 4 teams will receive First round-byes.  The remaining 8 teams will square off in the first round with #5 host #12, #6 host #11, etc.  The first-round games are scheduled for Saturday, March 4th.

The second round of the Playoffs will then see the top 4 teams who received byes in the first round host the first-round winners.  The second round is scheduled for Tuesday, March 7th.

The Region VI Semifinals and Championship games are scheduled to take place on March 10-11th at Friends University in Wichita Kansas.

As the probable fifth seed in the tournament, The Red Raven Women's Basketball team will host a 1st round matchup on Saturday, March 4th at 2:00 pm against either Pratt or Garden City.   The full Women's 2023 Region VI Division I Bracket can be viewed HERE.  Current KJCCC Women's Div I standings can be viewed HERE.

The Red Raven Men's Basketball team can find themselves anywhere from the #1 seed to the #4 seed in the tournament depending on the results of the last regular season games played on March 1st.  However, the Ravens are guaranteed to land one of the top 4 seeds thus earning a bye in the first round and hosting a 2nd round matchup on Tuesday, March 7th.  The full Men's 2023 Region VI Division I Bracket can be viewed HERE.  Current KJCCC Men's Div I standing can be viewed HERE.
