In a matchup of  basketball teams with identical 10-3 records, the Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens defeated the Garden City Broncbusters 89-84.

The win extends the Red Ravens overall record to 11-3 and also improves their KJCCC conference record to 7-3.  The Red Ravens are on a current 3 game winning streak.

Early in the game, the Red Ravens looked to still be on holiday break and found themselves down 13 points barely five minutes into the game.  However, through hot shooting, Coffeyville roared back to take a 44-39 halftime lead.   To overcome the slow start, the Red Ravens shot a blistering 51% overall and 46% from the 3 point line in the first half. 

For the majority of the second half, the Red Ravens maintained a 5-6 point lead and in the last few minutes of the game made just enough free throws to keep the Broncbusters at bay.

Coffeyville had three players in double figures including freshmen Jordan Taylor (19 pts and 7 rebounds), freshmen TJ Washington (17 points and 7 rebounds), and freshmen Malik Keith (10 points and 8 rebounds).

Coffeyville will return to action with a home matchup on Saturday, January 7th against the Butler Grizzlies.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 in Nellis Hall.
