Red Raven Baseball Lose Four to Neosho County Panthers

The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Baseball team played home and away doubleheaders this past weekend against the Neosho County Panthers.  Saturday's (March 20th) doubleheader was played at Neosho County in Chanute Kansas and Sunday's (March 21st) was played in Coffeyville.  

The Red Ravens lost both games at Neosho on Saturday by scores of 7-4 and 9-8.  Coffeyville then looked to regroup on their home field on Sunday, but it was not to be with the Ravens losing both at home by scores of 21-10 and 18-5.

The four losses has the Red Ravens' overall record at 3-9 including 0-4 in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) games.

Game #1 at Neosho (Loss 7-4 in 7 innings)

The first game of the doubleheader saw the Ravens score four runs on four hits.  Raven sophomore Easton Rindt went 1 for 3 with 2 RBI's.  Coffeyville freshman left-hander Chat Hayes started on the mound for the Ravens going five innings allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and eleven strikeouts.

Game #2 at Neosho (Loss 9-8 in 9 innings)

 The second game saw the Ravens mount a furious comeback in the ninth inning. Coffeyville was down five and scored four in the top of the ninth to pull within one, but fell one run short.  Coffeyville scored eight runs on twelve hits.  Raven sophomore Trey McClelland led the offense for Coffeyville going three for five including a home run and two doubles to drive in three.  Redshirt freshman right-hander Zackary Cushing started for the Ravens on the mound going four-innings allowing three runs (three earned) while striking out 3.

Game #3 at Coffeyville (Loss 21-10 in 5 innings)

The Red Ravens in game #3 found themselves down early with Neosho scoring 16 runs in the first two innings.  Coffeyville was able to score ten runs on thirteen hits with freshmen Adriel Mendoza-Lopez and Orlando Gonzalez both hitting home runs in the game.  

Game #4 at Coffeyville (Loss 18-5 in 7 innings)

Coffeyville again found themselves down early allowing Neosho to score 14 runs over the first three innings.  Trey McClelland pounded out two home runs for the Ravens along with redshirt freshman Jayden Kay also hitting a home run.

Coffeyville will return to action with a home doubleheader scheduled for Thursday, March 25th against the Red Devils of Allen County.  Game times set for 1:00 and 4:00 p.m.
