Red Ravens Win 7th Game of the Season with 2-0 Defeat of Dodge City

Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Soccer Team defeated the Conquistadors of Dodge City 2-0.  With the victory, the Red Ravens improved their 2021 overall record to 7-4 including a 6-2 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) matches.  The 6-2 KJCCC record currently has Coffeyville in second place in the KJCCC Div I East standings.

Coffeyville and Dodge City fought through much of the first half without either team being able to gain much traction.  The Red Ravens were able to break the stalemate late in the first half (42:45 1st) when Raven freshman Ashleigh Sweat took a nice assist from sophomore Emily Hannah and scored the only goal of the half for Coffeyville.  The Red Ravens went into halftime with the 1-0 lead.

Coffeyville came out quickly out of halftime and was determined to put some space on the scoreboard over the Conquistadors.  Barely four minutes into the second half, Raven sophomore forward Alia Jaidi, assisted by Sweat, netted the second goal of the game for the Red Ravens and pushed the lead out to 2-0.

Coffeyville's backline performed excellently the remainder of the game and Coffeyville earned the 2-0 victory.

The Red Ravens will return to action with a road game on Wednesday, October 6th to Overland Park Kansas where they will play the Johnson County Cavaliers.  The kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 pm.
