Seven Different Red Raven Women Score in 7-0 Victory Over NEO

Miami, Okla. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Soccer Team crossed the border into Oklahoma to play a match at NEO in Miami Oklahoma.  The Red Ravens came away from the match with an impressive 7-0 victory.  The victory improves Coffeyville's overall record to 2-0 on the young season.

The goal scoring started early and often with the Lady Ravens punching it in the back of the net in the opening minute of play. Sophomore Shyanne Reid was able to take an overhit corner kick and attack the end line serving a ball into the six-yard box where sophomore Grace Higgins was waiting on the near post. Coffeyville controlled much of the run of play in the first half threatening the goal.  Red Raven freshman forward Thayline Teixeira was able to overpower her defender and found freshman Reagan Smith on a diagonal switch for the second goal of the game and the halftime scoreline.

The second half was all Ravens. The Lady Ravens controlled the bulk of the possessions in the second half while getting five more ladies on the score sheet. Sophomore Katie Burfoot scored off a redirected header from Julia "Gucci" Mullins. Sophomore Ashleigh Sweat scored a banger from the top of the box off a pass from Emelly Nezi. Sophomore Sheryssa Saaduldin had the composure to catch the keeper off her line and scored a driven goal from 45+ yards away.  Shyanne Reid scored a far post header from a Corner from Saaduldin, and sophomore Keysli Elias capped off the scoring after freshman Polly Hogg muscled her way down the park running at goal and showed a bit of Man City flair laying the ball off with a back heel flick and Elias slotted it into the corner.

The Ravens will return to action on Saturday, August 27th with a match against Hill College that will be played in El Dorado Kansas.  Game time on Saturday in El Dorado is set for 11:00 am.
