Red Raven Women Soccer Beat Allen, Sit Atop KJCCC East Standings

The Coffeyville Community College women's soccer team beat KJCCC conference foe Allen County 8-0 Wednesday (Sept 11th) at Veteran's Memorial Stadium.  The win puts the Red Ravens as the only remaining undefeated KJCCC east school with a 2-0 conference record and an overall 6-1 record.  The 2-0 conference record currently has the Ravens atop the KJCCC east standings.

Like the majority of their 6 wins this year, the win over Allen came with an avalanche of scoring.  Currently, Coffeyville is third in the NJCAA in scoring with a total of 42 goals over 7 games.

Against Allen, the Red Ravens had 8 goals with three teammates combining for that total.  Freshmen midfielder Rachael Manley and sophomore forward Chritine Kitaru Kagonya both had 3 goals a piece with freshmen forward Louise Atkinson pitching in for another 2 goals.  Overall, Coffeyville had 13 shots on goal against Alllen with 8 of them reaching the back of the net.

The Red Raven defense has not been to shabby itself, with four of the Ravens six wins coming by shutout.

Coffeyville returns to action this Saturday (Sept 14th) with a road game at rival Butler County.  Butler is currently 6-2 on the season with a 2-1 conference record.  Game time in El Dorado Kansas is set for 7:00 pm.
