A 63-54 Home Loss vs Seward Moves Raven Women's Basketball to an Overall Record of 3-2

The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Basketball Team suffered a home loss to the Seward County Saints 63-54.  With the loss, the Red Ravens' overall record moves to 3-2 along with a 2-2 conference (KJCCC) record.

Coffeyville had one bad quarter, the second.  In that quarter the Ravens were outscored 24-7 by Seward.  For the rest of the game, Coffeyville was playing catch-up and just couldn't make up the difference.  The Ravens closed hard, outscoring the Saints by 19-14 in the fourth quarter but that deficit from the second quarter was just too big to dig out of.

For the game, Seward led Coffeyville in most team stats including shooting percentage (36%-28%), rebounds (47-38), and turnovers (24-26).

Red Raven sophomore Faith Simpson led Coffeyville with a 16 point 10 rebound double double.  Coffeyville freshmen Martina Aeschliman and Nakia Cullom both chipped in with nine points each.

Coffeyville will return to action this Wednesday with a road game to Great Bend Kansas to play the Barton Community College Cougars. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
