Red Raven Women's Basketball Rolls in Season Opener, 111-56 Over SW Christian JV

The Coffeyville Community College Women's Basketball Team opened up their 2020-21 season in impressive fashion, rolling to a 111-56 home victory over Southwest Christian University JV.

Due to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) current Covid regulations, no spectators were allowed into the game at Nellis Gymnasium.

Hot-shooting marked the Red Raven's opening game. Coffeyville jumped out quickly in the game out-scoring the Eagles of SW Christian 27-6 in the first quarter, from there the Ravens never looked back.  For the game, the Coffeyville shot an outstanding 58% (43-74) from the field and 45% (11-24) from behind the 3-point line.  Overall, the Ravens had 5 players in double-figure scoring.

Amiya Josey (Fr) with 18 points (6-8 shooting overall and 2-2 from 3 pt line)
Faith Simpson (So) with 15 points (7-10 shooting) and 4 rebounds
Paige Scott (Fr) with 11 points (4-7 shooting) and 7 rebounds
Martina Aeschliman (Fr) with 11 points (3-6 shooting) and 4 rebounds
Nakia Cullom (Fr) with 10 points (5-11 shooting) and 4 rebounds

Coffeyville will return to action with their opening KJCCC matchup with a road game to Hutchinson Community College.  That game is scheduled at Hutchinson on Wednesday, January 27th at 5:30p.
