Strong Fourth Quarter Powers Red Raven Women Over Barton 58-48

A fourth quarter surge by the Coffeyville Community College Red Raven women's basketball team powered them over the Cougars of Barton County 58-48.

The victory improves the Red Raven's overall record to 20-8 and 19-6 in Kansas Jayhawk conference play.

After a seesaw first three quarters, the Red Ravens were nursing a one  point lead (35-34) going into the fourth quarter.  However, behind three pointers by sophomores Alanie Fisher, Patriece Dodson, and Antionette Daniels, the one point lead quickly ballooned to a 50-40 lead midway through the fourth quarter.   With made free throws over the last minutes of the game, the Ravens were able to secure the 58-48 victory.

Statistical leaders for the Red Ravens include guard Alanie Fisher (15 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists), center Antionette Daniels (15 points and 4 rebounds), guard Patriece Dodson (11 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists) and Desiree Nelson (2 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists).

The Red Ravens will travel to Ark City Kansas on Monday, February 27th to play the Cowley Tigers for their last regular season game.

Coffeyville Community College women's basketball team will be hosting an opening round Region VI/KJCCC playoff game on Thursday, March 2nd at 5:30 pm in Nellis Hall.  Their opponent is yet to be determined.
