Red Raven Women Basketball Back On Track Defeat Cloud 72-64

The Red Raven women's basketball team took care of business Wednesday night in Nellis Hall and defeated the Thunderbirds of Cloud County 72-64.

The Red Ravens extended their overall season record to 15-6 and their KJCCC conference record to 14-4, good for third in the conference.

Coffeyville jumped out of the gate early earning a 23-20 first quarter lead.  However, Cloud answered in the second quarter and the teams were tied 34-34 at halftime.

The Red Ravens won the third quarter by five and the fourth quarter by three to earn the eight point victory, 72-64.

Coffeyville (35%) was actually out shot by Cloud (41%) in the game, but timely offensive rebounds (18) for the Red Ravens combined with ten more free throw attempts was the difference in the game.

Statistical leaders for the Red Ravens included sophomore guard Alanie Fisher with a game high 19 points, freshmen forward Lucy Burke (12 points and 9 rebounds), sophomore center Antionette Daniels (12 points and 4 rebounds), sophomore guard Patriece Dodson (10 points and 4 assists), and sophomore guard Desiree Nelson (10 points and 4 rebounds).

The Red Ravens will return to action this Saturday, February 4th with a road game to take on the Beavers of Pratt Community College.  Game time in Pratt Kansas is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
