Red Raven Women Win Tight Game vs Butler 54-46

In a tightly contested game, the Coffeyville Community College Red Raven women's basketball team defeated the Butler Grizzlies 54-46.

The win moves the Red Raven's overall record to 9-5 and 8-3 in the Kansas Jayhawk Conference.

This game was a match-up of teams tied for third place in the KJCCC.

Coffeyville came storming out of the gates early, posting a first quarter lead of 21-9.  However, Butler answered in the second quarter with a 17-5 run of their own to tie the game up at 26 going into halftime.

The Red Ravens started the third quarter on another run and posted a 19-10 scoring streak to move into the lead in the third quarter.  The fourth quarter saw the Grizzlies inch somewhat closer to the Red Ravens, but the Ravens made just enough free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.

As a team the Red Ravens shot 19/47 (47%) for the game and 8/25 (32%) from the three point line.  In contrast, the Grizzlies shot 15/45 (33%) overall and 6/19 (31%) from three.

Stat leaders for the Red Ravens include sophomore guard Alanie Fisher (18 points on 4/6 three pointers), sophomore guard Patriece Dodson (14 points on 7/10 free throws), and Antionette Daniels (12 points  and 5 rebounds).

The Lady Ravens will be back in action on Wednesday, January 11th with a road game at Great Bend, Kansas to play Barton County Cougars.  Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
