Red Ravens Chris Arviso and Khmari Johnson Earn KJCCC Player of the Week Honors

An upset win for Coffeyville Community College and road victory for then number eight ranked Garden City Community College were led by big performances that led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Football Player of the Week honors for Chris Arviso, Khmari Johnson, and Julius Tikoisuva for week six of the 2024 football season.  

Offensive Player of the Week (Chris Arviso - Coffeyville) - Coffeyville red-shirt freshman quarterback Chris Arviso led the Red Ravens to a 33-17 upset victory over number 10 ranked Highland Scotties. Prior to the game, Highland's defense was ranked number one in the NJCAA in points per game only allowing just over five points per contest. In leading the Raven offense that scored 33 points, Arviso carved up the Scottie defense going 20 of 26 for 236 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Defensive Player of the Week (Khmari Johnson - Coffeyville) – Red Raven sophomore linebacker Khmari Johnson was a force for the Coffeyville defense as the Red Ravens defeated number 10 Highland 33-17. Johnson led the defense with nine total tackles, one sack, 1.5 tackles for loss, and an interception. Johnson's interception came late in the fourth quarter to help seal the victory for the Ravens.
