Connecting on the longest made field goal in the NJCAA this season and tying a school-record, Coffeyville Community College freshman place-kicker Roan McCarthy has been named the NJCAA Division 1 Football Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against Cisco College.

Red Raven freshman place-kicker Roan McCarthy couldn't miss as the Red Ravens defeated the Cisco Wranglers 37-19. In the game, McCarthy was perfect as he drilled all 3 field goal attempts (28, 38, & 57 yds) including a team record-tying 57-yarder while also converting all 4 extra point attempts. For the afternoon, McCarthy contributed 13 points in the victory and helped Coffeyville get out to a 2-0 start on the season for the third time in the last four seasons. Nationally, McCarthy ranks first for longest field goal by an NJCAA player this season and seventh nationally with 18 points scored.
