Red Raven Women's Basketball Lose on Road at Cowley 57-54

Arkansas City, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Women's Basketball team traveled to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) foe Cowley College Tigers and lost a close one 57-54.  The loss moves the Red Ravens overall record to 12-6 including 11-6 in KJCCC games.  The 11-6 conference mark has Coffeyville in third place in the KJCCC East standings behind Butler and Independence.

The first and third quarters are where the Ravens lost this one.  Offensively, Coffeyville was only able to post nine points in each of those quarters while giving up 13 in each of those to Cowley.  For the game, Coffeyville shot ten percentage points below their season average, only sinking 29% (21-72) for the game.

Freshman Paige Scott led the way for the Red Ravens with 16 points while sophomore Kaylin Lay pitched in 11 points.  Raven sophomore center Faith Simpson had 8 points as well as 12 rebounds.

Coffeyville will return to action on Monday, March 29th with a home tilt against Montgomery County rivals the Independence Pirates.  Tipoff in Nellis West is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
