Lady Ravens Fall short in Home Thriller

The Lady Ravens showed up to play tonight against the Barton Cougars. They got the offense going early and competed all night long. It turned out to be a thriller coming down to the final seconds of the game, Unfortunately the Lady Ravens fell short 53-50.

In the first quarter the Lady Ravens showed their best start all year. You could tell early on that they showed up to compete,but so did the Cougars. The Cougars were firing shots right back making sure the Lady Raven's didn't get out to a lead. The first quarter ended 19-19. The Lady Ravens got out to a lead in the second quarter finishing the half with a five point lead 30-25. The Ravens had the three ball going in the first half, knocking down 4 compared to the cougars 1. Brooklyn Wade had two of those four.

Coming out of halftime the Lady Ravens came out with a slow start. They were turning the ball over and the Cougars were capitalizing off almost every mistake. The Cougars out scored the Lady Ravens by 8 points in the 3rd quarter taking the lead away. The Lady Ravens would have to battle back in the fourth to try to regain the lead back. The game was close down the stretch and the Ladies were given a chance to tie the game at the free throw line with 6 seconds remaining on the clock but they missed first. After the miss Barton called a strategic timeout. The Lady Ravens Intentionally Fouled sending the Cougars to the line. The score was 50-53 the Lady Ravens had 4 seconds to fire up a three to tie but failed to convert.

Freshman Brooklyn Wade was the leading scorer for the Lady Ravens. She had 13 points and 6 assist. She shot 5/10 from the field and 3 of those came from beyond the arc.

The Lady Ravens next game is on Saturday December 8th @ Pratt Community College at 2pm. Good luck Lady Ravens!
