Red Raven Softball Pound Out Two Victories Over Cloud in Home Doubleheader

Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Softball Team opened up their home season (playing at LeClere Park) by pounding out a total of 31 runs in a doubleheader against the Cloud County Thunderbirds.  The Red Ravens won game #1 13-10 and went on to win game #2 18-10. With the two victories, the Red Ravens' overall record moves to 5-15 including a 4-8 KJCCC conference record.

Game #1 -  Won 13-10

The Red Ravens took the lead for good with seven runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth freshman Aaliyah Ahmed doubled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run, freshman Kyilee Chumley singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs, freshman Krislynne Mayes smashed a homer on a 1-0 count, scoring three runs, and Addy Beck singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run.

Aubrey Schroyer led Coffeyville to victory in the pitcher's circle. The righty went seven innings, allowing ten runs on 12 hits and striking out six.

Game #2 - Won 18-10

Krislynne Mayes came to the ballpark and meant business driving in five on three hits to lead the Red Ravens past Cloud County Community College 18-10.  Mayes drove in runs on a double in the second, a double in the third, and a stolen base in the fourth.

Coffeyville earned the victory despite allowing Cloud County Community College to score six runs in the first inning.

Regan Dry was the winning pitcher for the Ravens. The freshman right-hander allowed four hits and five runs over one-third of an inning, walking zero. Aubrey Schroyer threw four and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Schroyer recorded the last 14 outs to earn the save for Coffeyville.

 

Coffeyville will return to action this Sunday, April 11th with a road doubleheader scheduled at Cowley College.  Game times set for 2:00 & 4:00 p.m.
