Red Raven Softball Stumbles Against KJCCC Foe Allen County

The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Softball team lost both ends of a tough home doubleheader against the Red Devils of Allen County.  

Game #1 - Red Ravens 1, Red Devils 9

Red Ravens watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 9-1 loss to Allen CC Red Devils on Thursday.  Allen CC Red Devils scored on a walk by Lacey Stamper, a single by Morgan Collins, and a single by Madisyn Havenstein in the first inning.

The Red Ravens struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Allen CC Red Devils, giving up nine runs.
 
Allen CC Red Devils fired up the offense in the first inning, when Stamper drew a walk, scoring one run.
 
Skyler Jackson toed the rubber for Allen CC Red Devils. The pitcher surrendered one run on four hits over six innings, striking out six and walking one.
 
Jade Jimboy was in the pitcher's circle for Red Ravens. Jimboy allowed 13 hits and nine runs over five and a third innings, striking out one.  Joe Airington threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
 
Grace Batdorf led Red Ravens with two hits in three at-bats.
 
Game #2 - Red Ravens 5, Red Devils 12
 
Red Ravens had trouble keeping up with Allen CC Red Devils in a 12-5 loss in Game #2.
 
Red Ravens scored four runs in the fifth inning.  The offensive firepower by Red Ravens was led by Lainey Hardman, Alex Ginnis, Ciara Moore, and Justina Raye, who each had RBIs in the inning.
 
Allen CC Red Devils scored four runs in the fourth inning.  The big inning for Allen CC Red Devils came thanks to singles by Brooklyn Goehring and Robin Todd, a walk by Ashley Tribble, and a groundout by Jaydee Pulliam.
 
Brooklyn Ellis toed the rubber for Allen CC Red Devils. The pitcher allowed six hits and one run over six and two-thirds innings, striking out two.
 
Joe Airington was on the rubber for Red Ravens. Airington lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing nine hits and six runs while striking out one and walking one.  Raye threw three and a third innings in relief.
 
Red Ravens scattered eight hits in the game.  Moore, Ginnis, and Hardman each had multiple hits for Red Ravens.  Hardman, Ginnis, and Moore all had two hits to lead Red Ravens.
 
 
Coffeyville will return to action this coming Sunday, April 16th as they will host Hesston College in a doubleheader at Byers Field.  Game times are set for 2:00 and 4:00 pm.
