Men's Track Places 4th in NJCAA Outdoor Championships, Ferguson, Betts Place 1st & 2nd in Triple Jump

Hutchinson, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's and Women's Teams competed at the 2022 NJCAA Outdoor Championships held at Hutchinson Community College on May 19-21.  The Red Raven men's team scored 67.5 points which earned them a fourth-place finish at the Championships, just a half-point behind Barton for third place.

Eighteen of Coffeyville's points came in the Men's Triple Jump where Red Raven sophomore Treyvon Ferguson won the National Title with a jump of 16.07m (52'8.5").  Red Raven sophomore Garrian Betts gave Coffeyville the one-two sweep as Betts earned the silver medal with a jump of 15.39m (50'5.75").  Ferguson also scored points in the Long Jump, placing 5th with a leap of 7.44m (24'4.75").

Sophomore Dennis Ohene-Adu, following up his 2022 NJCAA Indoor Shot Put Title, was edged out in his quest for the outdoor title but did earn second place with a toss of 18.14m (59'6").  Ohene-Adu was also able to score some points in the Men's Hammer with a 5th place finish with a throw of 52.86m (173'5").

The Red Raven Men's 4x100m team of Victor Smith, Dakari Charlton, Ireon Brown, and Antione Evans hit a finals qualifying time of 40.18 in the prelims and then were able to secure the Bronze Medal in the finals with a time of 40.26.

Freshman Taj Morris flashed through the 110m High Hurdles claiming a Bronze Medal with a time of 14.02.

Red Raven freshman sprinters Ireon Brown and sophomore Dakari Charlton muscled up in the 200m with Brown placing 4th (20.99) and Charlton placing 6th (21.06).

Sophomore Calvin Bostic was a double scorer in the throws for the Ravens placing 5th in the Shot Put at 16.70m (54'9.5") and 8th in the discuss 49.41m (162'1.25").

Sophomore Timothy Johnson rounded out the Men's scoring with a 5th place finish in the High Jump with a jump of 2.07m (6'9.5").
