Nolton Shelvin (100m) and Men's 4x100 Relay Win National Titles!

Levelland, Texas - The Coffeyville Community College Men's and Women's Track Teams competed at the 2021 NJCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships this past week held at South Plains College in Levelland Texas.  Overall, the Red Raven Men's team placed fifth with 48 points, and the Women's team tied for 23rd with four points.  

Red Raven freshman sprinter Nolton Shelvin, from Winnie Texas, bolted out of the blocks in winning the 100m dash to earn the NJCAA National Title.  Shelvin turned over a wind-legal 10.09 time in winning the title.  Shelvin's 10.09 is the seventh fastest ever in NJCAA and just missed the 10.05 U.S. Olympic trials standard in the 100m.

Coffeyville's Men's 4x100m Relay team also placed first earning the NJCAA National Title.  The Relay team of Nolton Shelvin, Freshman Guinove Joanus, freshman Antoine Evans and freshman Dakari Charlton ran a time of 39.47 in winning the National Championship.  The time of 39.47 broke the Red Ravens' outdoor school record.

Other top finishers for the Red Ravens include;

Women's 4x400m Relay (Tatianna Washington, Shavell Riley, Achai Arop, and Avagay Morris) placed 7th with a time of 3:51.37
Freshman Kristina Tchoumak placed 7th in Women's Hammer with a throw of 46.14m (151'5")

Freshman Antoine Evans placed 3rd in Men's 200m with a time of 20.66
Freshman Guinove Joanus placed 6th in Men's 200m with a time of 20.98 and 6th in Men's 100m with a time of 10.33
Freshman Henry Kiner placed 4th in Men's Triple Jump with a jump of 15.39 (50'6")
Freshman Calvin Bostic placed 5th in Men's Shot Put with a throw of 15.48 (50'9.5"), also placed 7th in Men's Hammer with a throw of 48.62 (159'6")
Freshman Matthew Heilig placed 5th in Men's Javelin with a throw of 52.27 (171'6")
Freshman Jeremiah Willians placed 8th in Men's Shot Put with a throw of 15.07m (49'5.25")
