Angel Ortiz joined the Red Raven football coaching staff in 2020 as the wide receivers coach, after spending his previous years at Scottsdale Community College (SCC), AZ - Pima Community College, AZ - Butler Community College, KS and Ottawa University, KS. Coach Ortiz brings an impressive resume in developing outstanding wide receivers.

During his young coaching career, he has been able to mentor 29 division 1A / 1AA wide receivers. His receivers have also been able to reach the top of their profession such as Braedon Bowman (LA Chargers), Anas Hasic (Kansas City Chiefs), Larry Scott (Kansas City Chiefs).

During his three seasons 2013 – 2014 – 2018 at Scottsdale Community College, the wide receivers group combined for a total of 10,067 receiving yards and 105 Touchdowns. Ortiz was responsible for putting the best group of receivers in Scottsdale history on the field in 2013 as his receivers set numerous school records, including receiving yards (4,241) and Touchdowns (47).

Coach Ortiz spent the 2015-2017 seasons as the wide receivers coach at Pima Community College.  While at Pima, Ortiz coached WR Jeff Cotton.  Cotton would go on to play in the NFL with the Los Angles Chargers.

Before leaving for Arizona, Coach Ortiz coached for a year under Junior College Hall of Famer and Head Coach Troy Morrell at Butler Community College in 2012.   During his time with the Grizzlies Coach Ortiz served as an Offensive Assistant Coach also assisting long-time Grizzlies wide receivers coach Chris Jones with the receivers group.

Ortiz began his coaching career at his alma mater Ottawa University as a student assistant working with the wide receivers under Head Coach Kent Kessinger.
