Victor Williams

Defensive Back (1964-65)

Rev. Victor G. Williams was born in Winfield, Kansas.  He was the youngest of four children born to Rev. Curtis and Mrs. Mary Janette Williams.  The family first moved to Wichita and then to Kansas City, Kansas.   Graduating from Sumner High School in 1964, Victor was an honor student, lettered in football, was co-captain of the football team in 1963, and was named captain in 1964.  He was President of the Letterman’s Club, the Physics Club, lettered in track and held the state record for javelin in 1964.  Victor graduated with an Associate in Arts Degree from Coffeyville Junior College in 1966 and was a Junior College All-American that same school year.

Following graduation from CCJC, Victor attended North Texas State University (University of North Texas) from 1966-1968 where he graduated with a B.S. in History and a M.S. in Education.  While attending North Texas State, Victor lettered in football and track both years and was captain of the football team in 1968.  Victor was a graduate assistant football coach for two years.

Victor was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone in 1971 as an accounting office supervisor in Ft. Worth, Texas.  While employed with Southwestern Bell, Victor was a computer programmer in charge of managing the computer room operations, an area manager of finance and accounting and external affairs, and served as President of the Telecommunication Industry Expense and Tax panel in 1996.  Since then he has lived and worked in Ft. Worth, Dallas, St. Louis, New York City, and Houston.  Victor retired from Southwestern Bell (SBC) Communications after 26 years.

Victor has been president of Optimist Club in St. Louis, Missouri, Boy Scout Recruitment Chair, server on an advisory board for Citizens National Bank, St. Louis, Missouri, and served as Vice President of National Association of Christian Educators.  Victor is Founder and President of Saturday Academy – USA: Computer and Business Education.  He started and equipped computer education learning centers in seven states in the USA and three sites in Jamaica.

Victor is currently an instructor of Computer Education at National Missionary Fellowship of Churches.  He is Congress Secretary for the Independence Missionary Baptist General Association of Texas.

Victor was married to Joyce Garlington in 1967.  She is now deceased.  Victor has two sons, Victor II, who is a surgeon, and Curtis Brandon Williams, who is an attorney.
