Stirling Luckey
Defensive End (1993)

Stirling Luckey graduated from Thornton Township High School in 1992. He attended CCC in 1993-1994 and the University of Oklahoma from 1994-1996. Luckey played for the Tulsa Talons from 1999-2001.

He had a wonderful time while going to school and being part of the football team in Coffeyville.  His ultimate goal after graduating from Coffeyville was to play football at the University of Oklahoma and move on to the NFL. But, like most young men it was just a dream.  His goal post moved and he decided to go into electronics and wiring.  He enrolled into a trade school that specialized in Electronic Systems while at the same time coaching linebackers and tight ends for his high school in Harvey, Illinois.  After graduating from Electronics school, he received a call from coach Gabrillson of Concordia University Wisconsin Mequon, who was looking for a D-line/conditioning coach and he happily accepted.  Right about the same time he received another call, this time from his father who informed him that Tulsa was getting an Arena Football team and he encouraged him to try out. Luckey continued his career in football, accepting both positions.

Playing for The Tulsa Talons was a great experience.  The second-year Tulsa had a coaching change and the new head coach was none other than Skip Foster, one of Coffeyville’s all-time great football coaches and he felt good playing for a coach who wanted to win.

After a few years of playing arena football coaching high school and Division two football, Luckey decided to concentrate on his career as a Computer Server Technician. He has had the honor of working for great companies like Google New York, Facebook, and Twitter to name a few.

“To this day my greatest accomplishment is being married to my wonderful wife Kristia who pushed me to become everything I wanted to be and who’s always been in my corner cheering for me.  Also, my six children whom I love very much Skyler, Stirling, Steele, Sidney, Symone, and Isabella.”
