Siran Stacy
Running Back (1987-88)

Siran Stacy was born and raised in Geneva, Alabama. He attended Geneva High School and participated in football, basketball, baseball, track, and tennis. Siran set numerous records and was inducted into the Geneva High School Hall of Fame in 2017. Siran’s dream was to play for legendary football coach, Paul Bear Bryant at the University of Alabama. In 1987, he was recruited by the University of Alabama but did not meet the academic requirements.

Siran was offered a scholarship at Coffeyville Community College and he arrived by a greyhound bus that fall. While at CCC, hard work, discipline, responsibility and many vital principles were taught and learned. Siran played under Coach Dick Foster for two seasons. During this time Coach Foster took an average thinking running back out of South Alabama and molded him into a physically and psychologically great athlete. Multiple records were set by Siran at CCC and upon graduation, Siran was voted the #1 rated Junior College player in the nation. Remarkably, Siran also participated on the Tennis team while at CCC. Siran received his Associate of Arts degree in the spring of 1989 and went on to sign with the University of Alabama fulfilling his childhood dream.

While at Alabama, Siran broke numerous football records with some still standing today. In his first season, he scored 18 touchdowns in 10 games and was voted 1st team All-SEC. In his final season, he was voted team captain and he finished 1st team All-SEC, 2nd team All-American and was drafted in the 2nd round by the Philadelphia Eagles. Siran played one full season with the Eagles and then went into the World Football League/NFL Europe. He lived in Scotland for 5 seasons and became the NFL Europe All-Time leading rusher, league MVP and was inducted into the NFL Europe Hall of Fame.

In November of 2007, Siran tragically lost his wife Ellen, his daughters Lequisa, Sydney and Ellie and his son Bronson in a horrific drunk driver car accident. In 2008, Siran stepped out in faith and started in full-time ministry. He has traveled around the world preaching the love of Jesus Christ and His Kingdom message. Siran remarried in 2013. He, his wife Jeannie and daughters Shelly, Julia Marie, and Savanna live in Franklin, TN.
