Maurice Douglass, of Muncie, Indiana, was born on February 12, 1964. Douglass graduated from Trotwood High School in Trotwood, Ohio where he was recruited to play football at Coffeyville Community College in 1982. 
 
While at CCC, Douglass was a member of the 1983 NJCAA National Championship Team while earning 1st Team NJCAA All-American, as a defensive back. The Red Ravens were a combined 21-2, during his two years at CCC. Douglass then signed to play at the University of Kentucky. 
 
Douglass started for the Kentucky Wildcats, early on, where he recorded an interception that cemented his starting role for the next two years. 
 
In 1986, Douglass was selected in the 8th Round pick 221 by the Chicago Bears. Douglass played eight years with the Bears before signing with the New York Giants in 1995. He played an additional 2 years with the Giants before retiring from the NFL.  His NFL career consisted of 139 games, 6 interceptions, 2.5 sacks, 1 touchdown, and 85 return yards. 
 
After retiring, Douglass returned to Trotwood High School, where he was Head Coach for 13 seasons, and took his team to the playoffs for the first time since 1982. During his time, his players received over one hundred college football scholarships. 
 
Currently, Douglass is the Head Coach at Springfield High School in Springfield, Ohio.
