Harrison Kush

Punt Returner/Wide Receiver (2004)

Harrison Kush, a Louisburg, Kan., native, caught 15 passes during the 2004 season, but he earned first team NJCAA All-American honors with an epic season returning punts. Kush returned 35 punts for 714 yards for an incredible average of 20.4 yards per return. Kush returned five kicks for touchdowns including a long of 86 yards. Harrison had other returns that would have added to his touchdown total, but penalties negated a few other scores.

Harrison graduated from Louisburg High School in 2002 and was attending Fort Scott Community College as a student only. Coffeyville Red Raven Head Coach Jeff Leiker was informed of Harrison’s talent and accepted Harrison into the Red Raven program in 2003. However, a hamstring injury kept Harrison on the sidelines in 2003. Two years after graduating from high school, Harrison began his college career in 2004 with the Red Ravens. Coach Leiker, needing someone to provide a spark on the punt return unit, inserted Harrison into the returner’s role the second week of the 2004 season, and as the saying goes, the rest is history.

Harrison was also an NJCAA Academic All-American at CCC. After Coffeyville, Harrison played at Pittsburg State University from 2006 to 2008. He earned honorable mention All-American honors from the Football Gazette in 2006.

Harrison is currently a Project Manager with Tri-County Termite and Pest Control in Louisburg. He is married to Ashley. Harrison and Ashley are celebrating the recent birth of their first child, a son named Lucas Kanton.
