Receiver (1964-1965)

Dwayne Stovall graduated from Wichita East High School in Wichita, Kansas.  While in high school, Dwayne participated in football, basketball, and track.  After graduation, Dwayne was offered contracts by several professional baseball teams, however, he turned them all down in order to commit to playing football at Coffeyville Community College.  Red Raven football coach Bill Mills was the person who recruited Stovall to Coffeyville.

Dwayne played on both the 1964 and 1965 Red Raven teams.  Over those two seasons, the Red Ravens had a combined 18-2 record (9-1 both seasons).  According to coach Mills “In several games, Dwayne caught touchdown passes that set up the wins.  He had caught six touchdowns and that led the league in the early part of the 1964 season.  He was a great leader and example for the players on the 1964 and 1965 teams.”

During a game at Fort Scott during the 1965 season, both Coffeyville and Fort Scott came into the game with identical 5-0 records.  The Greyhounds took a 13-0 halftime lead.  However, in the second half, Dwayne caught two touchdown passes to seal the win for the Red Ravens.
After Coffeyville, Dwayne attended North Texas State University in Denton, Texas then returned to Wichita, Kansas where he worked for the Wichita fire department.  Over his career with the Wichita fire department, Dwayne spent 7 years as a Battalion Chief and then another 6 years as Operations Division Commander.

Dwayne currently lives in Wichita with his wife of nine years, LaNetra.
