Brien Hanley graduated from Jeffersonville High School in Jeffersonville, Indiana in 1994.  While in high school, Brien was a four-year letterman in basketball, as well as, a three-year letterman in both football and track.  In his junior year, Hanley led Jeffersonville to their first ISHAA State Basketball championship and earned the State Finals MVP.  As a senior, he earned recognition as an All-State in both basketball and football in addition to being a state finalist in track and field for his performance in Shot Put.
 
After high school graduation, Hanley made the decision to attend Xavier University on a basketball scholarship in the fall of 1994.  After one season, Hanley decided to switch sports and pursue his dream of playing football.
 
Under the guidance of Coach Skip Foster, Hanley began his collegiate football career at Coffeyville in 1995.  While on scholarship, he excelled at the left tackle position.  In 1996 Hanley was named First Team NJCAA All-American, First Team All-Jayhawk Conference, and was rated the #1 Junior College player in the country.
 
In the spring of 1997, Hanley transferred to Kansas State University. He quickly earned the starting position of left guard for the Wildcats. A two-year starter, Hanley lead the team to back-to-back bowl appearances; the 1997 Fiesta Bowl and 1998 Alamo Bowl.   During his tenure at KSU, Hanley received Honorable Mention All Big XII in 1998.  He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals, but was released due to injury in 1999.  Hanley finished his academic career at KSU in 2000, with a Bachelor of Science in Communications.
 
After graduation, Hanley lived in the Kansas City area for 11 years, working in the mortgage industry as well as spending time volunteering as offensive and defensive line coach for the Della Lamb Youth Football Team in Kansas City, Missouri.  In 2011, Hanley and his family relocated to Frisco, Texas. Hanley works as a sales manager with the 2nd largest mortgage company in the country; LoanDepot, LLC.  Each day with his loan officers, he utilizes skills he learned on and off the field--coaching, listening, and teamwork.  Brien is happily married to his college sweetheart April, whom he met while attending CCC in 1996.
