The 2022 All-KJCCC Football Team has been announced and the Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Football Team was well represented with 23 players earning recognition.
First up were the major awards for Coach of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.
The 2022 KJCCC Football Coach of the Year was Drew Dallas from Hutchinson Community College.
The 2022 Offensive Player of the Year went to Dylan Kedzior, running back from Hutchinson Community College.
The 2022 Defensive Player of the Year went to Red Raven defensive back Bishop Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald had an exceptional year for the Red Ravens from his safety position.
The 6-foot, 200-pound sophomore from Dale City, Virginia, was fifth on the team in total tackles with 46. He led the Jayhawk Conference with six interceptions and he had a fumble recovery.
As Coffeyville made its assent up the NJCAA rankings, Fitzgerald was at his best.
In Game 9 against No. 2 Iowa Western, Fitzgerald had a key interception which went for a 68-yard return and a touchdown in a 23-7 victory. Then in the season finale at Garden City, Fitzgerald intercepted three passes to help preserve a 30-21 victory and moved the Red Ravens up to No. 4 in the NJCAA Rankings.
In addition to his seven takeaways this season, Fitzgerald had eight passes broken up.
He had a season-high eight tackles against Hutchinson and had seven tackles against Iowa Western.
